Which Board is the best mode to follow : CBSE / ICSE ?

When a child steps in his academic field, the major concern of many parents lie in the selection of right board of education. This choice of board makes all the difference in a child's life.

In India, there are two most recognized boards.

  • CBSE.
  • ICSE
The subjects covered in both the boards are similar but the difference lies in the syllabus, knowledge & pattern.

As such let's go together to verify the pros and cons of both the boards.
     CBSE ------
It stands for Central Board of Secondary Education. It is recognised by Indian government. It has better footing in the sub continent.

4.The board allows both regular & private candidates
5.It focuses on science & maths with a lot of attention paid to the application of knowledge.
6.The syllabus is more crisp and facilitates better marks.
 Cons :
1.Its more theoretical based and put less emphasis on improving practical knowledge.
2.It is not based on real life concepts.

   ICSE----
ICSE stands for International Certificate of Secondary Education. It was established by the Local Examination Syndicate of the University of Cambridge.

Pros :
1.ICSE board focus equally on arts, language & science.
2.It is more comprehensive & detailed.
3.The board gives emphasis on English. Students have a better edge in exams like TOEFL.
4.It is recognized globally.
5.The curriculum is best for students in the field of Humanities & Management.
Cons :
1.The syllabus is little more complex & extensive.
2.It does not recommend Hindi.
3.This board does not allow private candidates.
4.It is more detailed and requires the student to remember a lot.
5.It may be too much for an average student.

So,should one go for CBSE or ICSE ???

Both the boards encompass lot of aspects involved in proper education for a child. Both have their pros and cons. So,its the responsibility of the parents to understand the boards properly and select the one based on their child's ability.

However, one should always focus on the quality of education rather than any board of education.
